| NATIONAL TREE DAY 2007 RESULTS |
A BIG Thank you to all those who have so far participated in National Tree Day 2007!
Thanks to your efforts National Tree Day 2007 was a great success with over 290,000 volunteers planted in excess of 1.2 million native plants at 3100 sites across Australia. Over 220,000 of these volunteers were students, planting at 1,900 school sites.
Planet Ark's National Tree Day is Australia's biggest community tree-planting event and since Tree Day started in 1996 over 11.5 million native trees and shrubs have been planted by more than 1.5 million volunteers!
National Tree Day is sponsored by Toyota and the AMP Foundation, and Planet Ark would like to extend a big thank you to Toyota Dealerships and AMP Financial Planners who continue to offer valuable on-the-ground support.
Tree planting makes a positive difference to our environment, and the benefits reach into schools and communities, and also help our precious native animals and plants survive in Australia's diverse natural settings.

- SCHOOLS TREE DAY - Friday 25th July
- NATIONAL TREE DAY - Sunday 27th July
Other insured dates will be announced in the near future.
Schools Tree Day, held on the last Friday of July, is a special day for Australia’s school children. These budding environmentalists are doing their bit for our country by planting native trees and shrubs and beautifying their school grounds.
Over 220,000 school children were involved in last year's event. Tree Day shows children how easy and fun it is to help our environment.
National Tree Day, held on the last Sunday of July, is a day for all Australians to help out by planting native trees and shrubs at a Tree Day site in their local area.
The planting of these local native trees, shrubs and groundcovers helps to provide food and shelter for Australia's wildlife, increasing native biodiversity and combating the habitat loss that threatens much of our wildlife.
