US sues Shell, Saudi venture over tank explosion

The department said it had filed the lawsuit against Motiva Enterprises LLC in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the state of Delaware, accusing Motiva of violating U.S. environmental laws.
Shell Oil Co. is a unit of Royal Dutch/Shell Group .
The department said the charges stemmed from a "lengthy investigation" that followed the tank explosion, which killed one person and injured eight others.
