Kinder Morgan Settles Californian Oil Spill Charges

Kinder Morgan said subsidiary SFPP L.P. agreed to plead guilty to four misdemeanors and pay about $3 million in fines and $2 million for environmental projects in connection with the oil spill.
The agreement was reached with the California Attorney General and the Solano County District Attorney, Houston-based Kinder Morgan said.
Under a separate agreement, Kinder Morgan subsidiary SFPP agreed in principle to settle misdemeanor charges in Los Angeles County for the release of five gallons of diesel fuel at a terminal in Los Angeles harbor last May.
In the Los Angeles spill, the company agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanors and pay a fine of $175,000.
