Country: DENMARK
Vestas shares rose on the news and by 0850 GMT were up 2.1 percent at 134.00 crowns, outperforming the Copenhagen bourse's top-20 OMXC-index, which was 0.8 percent higher.
The order consists of delivery, installation and commissioning, remote control systems and a five-year service and maintenance agreement, Vestas said in a statement.
Vestas did not disclose the value of the order, but Jyske Bank analyst Jesper Klitgaard Frederiksen estimated it to be worth around 500 million Danish crowns ($80 million).
Shipment of the turbines to the Woolnorth Studland Bay Wind Farm will begin in 2006 and commissioning of the plant will take place during the third quarter of 2006.
