California Lawmakers Approve Landmark Climate Bill

The bill for the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 passed in a 46-31 vote on the final day of the legislative session before November elections and now goes to Schwarzenegger for his signature.
Schwarzenegger, who has criticized fellow Republican President Bush for failing to fight climate change, struck an agreement with the Democratic legislative majority to back the bill Wednesday.
