Barn Swallows Nest in Aged Bird House Along a Highway in Jumping Pound Alberta

USA: June 29, 2004
A male Barn Swallow (R) arrives while a female sits in the opening of a bird house put up on a fence post along a highway just outside Jumping Pound, Alberta in the late afternoon of June 26, 2004.
The Barn Swallow is common sight in rural areas of North America and seem to have been named for their affinity to nest in old wooden barns unlike these particular ones.
