People observe a dead fin whale which washed ashore last week on the rocky coastline near the Spanish Basque fishing port of Bermeo, January 6, 2005.
|
||
|
The estimated 50 tonne creature, second only in size the the blue whale, is proving a headache for local authorities, which are considering various methods of removal, including dragging it out to sea and blowing it up with explosives to avoid the health risk and strong smell now emanating from the animal.
