Yaniv Levy examines loggerhead sea turtle near Michmoret

Tchompy, which Levy says is approximately 15 years old, suffered severe injuries to his front fins after being entangled in a fishing net.
The turtle underwent emergency surgery in Israel on February 22 to reconstruct one of his fins. The other fin had to be amputated.
The center says if Tchompy continues to recover well, the turtle could be released back to the Mediterranean Sea later this year.
