Cyclone Nargis strikes Myanmar in this computer enhanced satellite image from NASA's Terra satellite taken May 3 and released May 6, 2008.
|

|
The image is enhanced with visible and infrared scanner (VIRS) readings of precipitation over the area. Myanmar's military government raised its death toll from Cyclone Nargis on Tuesday to nearly 22,500 with a further 41,000 missing, nearly all of them from a massive storm surge that swept into the Irrawaddy delta.
