A female Chilean flamingo tends two eggs at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago.
|
This is the first time in the zoo's 140-year history that their flamingo flocks have laid eggs. Chilean flamingos are a gregarious species of flamingo native to South America, and their conservation status is listed as near threatened and in need of protection.
