Ian Bridges – IT Manager

Joining the Planet Ark team in 2006, Ian has the challenge of keeping Planet Ark’s computer and IT systems running smoothly – essential for keeping stress to a minimum during major campaigns.

With a background in IT support, Apple Mac software development and engineering, Ian thoroughly enjoys working with people and meeting the challenge of helping them to work more efficiently through the use of emerging technology. Having run his own business in IT support for 10 years, Ian understands the need for solutions that enhance peoples working lives by meeting their needs. When not playing with computers, Ian enjoys music, good food, family life and keeping the historic Linden Observatory in the Blue Mountains running.

Caroline Jones – Database Manager & IT Support

Caroline grew up in the suburbs of London and initially pursued a scientific career in the UK. Travelling throughout Australia in 1987 awoke a deeper calling towards protecting the environment.

Since moving to the Blue Mountains, Caroline has studied Bush Regeneration, Outdoor Leadership and Environmental Education and worked for Conservation Volunteers Australia, Tasmanian Parks & Wildlife Service and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) in various roles.

Caroline also enjoys undertaking volunteer opportunities, having assisted with field surveys of quolls and brush-tailed rock wallabies, bush regeneration, planting trees for the Regent Honeyeater program and working for an adult education centre in Maningrida, Arnhem Land through Indigenous Community Volunteers.

Caroline brings a diverse range of skills and experience to the Planet Ark team, from bush regeneration to databases, yoga and bushfire management!

Rebecca Gilling - Consultant: Special Projects

Rebecca has worked as an actor and television presenter since 1973. She joined the Planet Ark team full-time in 2002, having previously participated in Planet Ark's steel can recycling campaign. She is also the face on the new Planet Ark laundry powder.

Her role with Planet Ark includes campaign development and promotion, producing audio-visual material, and media spokesperson (as well as answering the telephone and making the tea!).

Having trained as an actor about a century ago at the (now defunct) Independent Theatre School in Sydney, Rebecca decided a few years ago that it was time to get serious, and has gone back to school to obtain a Social Sciences degree at the University of Western Sydney, majoring in Society and Politics.
