Week 4: I resolve to get a cover for my pool (if I have one) to save the thousands of litres of water that are lost through evaporation each year.
Date: 28-Jan-10
A typical backyard pool holds around 50,000L of water. Across an average year, depending on where in the country the pool is located, a pool can lose up to 80,000L of water through evaporation.
Consistently ‘topping up' the pool with fresh drinking water, wastes precious resources! Instead, I can invest in a high quality pool cover or blanket like those made by Daisy Pool Covers (www.daisypoolcovers.com.au ), and save water as the height of summer rolls around.
Some Governments (for example Western Australia) even offer a rebate once the purchase is made so make sure you speak to your State or Territory's Environment Department to find out if assistance is available.
I can install a water tank to collect the water for my pool.
Commitment Statement
I resolve to get a cover for my pool (if I have one) to save the thousands of litres of water that are lost through evaporation each year.
