Planet Ark’s new Recycling Near You platform is an Australian first

Planet Ark’s Business Recycling directory has officially merged with Recycling Near You, creating Australia’s very first comprehensive, dual-purpose platform for both households and businesses.

The merging of the Business Recycling directory and information website into the well-known Recycling Near You platform will facilitate greater accessibility for Australians at home and at work to recycling and reuse information. As the platform celebrates 20 years of helping Australians recycle smarter, the aim is to build on Recycling Near You’s current Australian user base of 1.7 million per year and grow the platform’s impact even further.

Here is what you can look forward to on the upgraded, free-to-use site:

  • A unified search experience:

No more jumping between websites. You can now search for both residential and commercial recycling and reuse services on a single, streamlined platform.

  • Accessibility for everyone:

To support our Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, the new site features intuitive graphic icons to ensure language is not a barrier to recycling.

  • High-impact resources:

We have launched brand-new educational content focused on areas where the community can make the highest impact and achieve the broadest reach.

The new site also hosts research exploring how organisations are currently managing their waste and the best opportunities to improve recycling and sustainability outcomes in our Business Attitudes to Recycling research. Interestingly, two-thirds of businesses viewed sustainability as crucial to their public image, while over two-thirds cited aligment with the values of employees as key motivators for sustainable practices.

Workplaces looking to improve their sustainability can use the new site to find ways to reduce waste and increase reuse and recycling.

New recycling and reuse service providers can list your services free of charge. Existing organisations already listed can check and update your services.
